Chartered Accountants Vacation Recruitment Lunch

Venue: Dockside, The Balcony Level, Cockle Bay Wharf
Cost: $100 (Arc) / $110 (non-Arc)

Business Society continues a tradition since 1959 with the Annual Ball at Dockside. Join us September 10 at Dockside, Cockle Bay Wharf for a night of 'Modern Romance'.

Your ticket includes a 3 course dinner and unlimited drinks, as well as entrance to the official after party.

Dress sharp for our cap off event for the year, as we look back on another year in style.

Notification of Extraordinary General Meeting - motion for amending the Constitution

Note this down in your diary - BSOC EGM 17/08

This Extraordinary General Meetng (EGM) will be held on Tuesday August 17 at 5PM. This event is open to the public and members are encouraged to attend to have a say in the future of the society.

A motion has been presented to the Chairperson to alter the Constitution. The proposed changes are outlined below.

The agenda for this meeting will be as follows, the interim President's Report then to an explanation of the motion and then to hold a vote to accept or refuse the motion.

Location of the EGM will be confirmed closer to the date.

Motion for Constitutional Amendments

Motion to amend the constitution pertain to requirements for membership and to the election process. The effects of these proposed changes are summarized as follows:

1. The composition of the Board of Directors will be a maximum of 20 members.
2. General election will no longer be for the Board in its entirety.
3. The general elections will be for five of the executive positions. (Nominees run as individual candidates or as a grouped candidate.)
4. Students enrolled in a double degree who have completed their business components are still members of BSOC.

Chartered Accountants Student Challenge

Take on the Chartered Accountants Student Challenge to apply what you've learnt at university to a real-life business problem and help make a difference.

The Peer Industry Mentoring Program is a series of 4 workshops held in Weeks 2-5 of Semester 2. This is your opportunity to get ahead of the game and learn from those who have done the hard yards for you.

A collection of knowledgeable Workshop Leaders has been assembled from all walks of life to assist you in the process of obtaining that dream job!

This week will tackle the all important Resume and Cover Letters for the applications your doing right now!

Articles, reviews, interviews, comic strips, illustrations, graphic design and anything else you can think of are all welcome!

Send your thoughts in the form of an article to publications@unswbsoc.com by Wednesday the 28th of July. Articles should be between 400 - 600 words long.

Careers Guide - coming soon

The BSOC Careers Portfolio endeavours to bridge the divide between students and employers. We do this through holding forums, panel discussions, workshops and most notably, through the publication of an annual BSOC Careers Guide to assist students navigate their way to graduate employment.
