Accounting Master Class presented by Deloitte

Time: 1pm-2.30pm

Venue: UNSW Design Studio - Mechanical Engineering Building

Accountants are just bean counters, aren’t they? Wrong.
Come along to the Deloitte Accounting Master Class to hear some of our Graduates and Managers from Deloitte Private and Deloitte Assurance & Advisory prove that myth wrong.
They’ll provide you with an insight into what they really do and you’ll get a chance to ask all your burning questions.
You’ll also be provided with some case material – sample client work that you’ll be able to use in your assessments and exams.

Oh. And there’ll be free pizza. We’ll see you there.

Commonwealth Bank’s Enterprise Services Summer Program

Commonwealth Bank Enterprise Services is hosting an information evening for students for our 2010/2011 Enterprise Services Summer Program. We are looking for high-achieving students who have the potential to be a future leader or specialist in our organisation.

· Hear more about the different areas within Enterprise Services and the types of roles interns can undertake.

Notification of Extraordinary General Meeting - motion for amending the Constitution

Note this down in your diary - BSOC EGM 17/08

This Extraordinary General Meetng (EGM) will be held on Tuesday August 17 at 5PM. This event is open to the public and members are encouraged to attend to have a say in the future of the society.

A motion has been presented to the Chairperson to alter the Constitution. The proposed changes are outlined below.

The agenda for this meeting will be as follows, the interim President's Report then to an explanation of the motion and then to hold a vote to accept or refuse the motion.

Location of the EGM will be confirmed closer to the date.

Motion for Constitutional Amendments

Motion to amend the constitution pertain to requirements for membership and to the election process. The effects of these proposed changes are summarized as follows:

1. The composition of the Board of Directors will be a maximum of 20 members.
2. General election will no longer be for the Board in its entirety.
3. The general elections will be for five of the executive positions. (Nominees run as individual candidates or as a grouped candidate.)
4. Students enrolled in a double degree who have completed their business components are still members of BSOC.

Opportunities exist for university students in their second last year of an undergraduate or postgraduate degree to gain an insight into the Financial Services industry. For the 2010/2011 Summer Vacation Internship, opportunities are available in the following areas:

The program runs for 10 weeks from December to February and positions are located in the Sydney CBD. Applications will be open from Wednesday August 4 and close midnight Friday September 3.
