Q: Why volunteer?
A: Firstly, for your career. Again and again, employers have stressed the importance for candidates to be well rounded. Here's a definition of a well rounded student:
  • be strong academically (credit minimum)
  • extracurricular participation in the wider community
  • a work background (one job, 6 months or more)
Volunteering your time for a student society or club helps you tick off that second box. Our mission is to enhance the university experience of students so to achieve that our objective is to develop students personally and professionally. That is, we build a network of support for students and we enhance their employability with opportunities such as these. Also, volunteering for Business Society helps you with that first box. Let it be known, everyone who studies in our group - shares notes!

Secondly, for the community. This society thrives because of students. When you go to any one of our events, someone's put a lot of time and effort to get that event up off the ground. So if you want these cool services and products to continue - you'll have to be part of the next generation to carry the torch.

Also if you've attended any of our events, then you've seen the positives we've been able to achieve. But you also have noticed some of the negatives. We encourage you to bring those perspectives and opinions to the table - because there's no way to improve without you.
