Study With Me - Playlists for Study 2.0

Written by Kiara Warner

Date Published: 08/08/2020

It’s that time of the trimester again where everything picks up and the frantic rush to prepare for finals is in full swing. If you’re anything like me, a good playlist is a key determinant of the productivity of your study session - good music sets the tone for deep focus and meaningful revision.

If you feel like your typical study playlist no longer cuts it for you, here are a few we’ve curated to help spark inspiration and productivity!

Coffee Shop Vibes:

With covid restrictions still in place around Sydney, you might find it hard to set up at your favourite coffee shop and grind out some study. Luckily, Spotify has heaps of coffee-shop themed playlists to help simulate its vibes and fuel your productive mood.

Jazz for Study:

Spotify’s Jazz for study playlist is perfect for rainy afternoons and late night studying with a warm cup of tea/coffee by your side.

Soundtrack Playlists:

In last Trimester’s article we recommended movie soundtracks. This time we’re switching it up with soundtracks from games, to make your revision feel as much like an adventure as it can get.

  • Zelda Breath of the Wild

  • Animal Crossing New Horizons

  • Pokemon

My Analog Journal:

This channel was made to explore “rare grooves” from around the world on vinyl and features a plethora of unique tracks organised by genre, culture and decade. If you liked last Trimester’s city pop recommendation, you’ll love the channel’s selection of Japanese “grooves”!

Check out these playlists:

Elijah Nang - Gaijin 外人 [Full LP]

Tagged #asianhiphop, Elijah Nang’s LP Gaijin is 1 hour and 19 minutes of lo-fi beats to keep you in flow state.

If you’re a fan of retro vibes and wavy synths, this channel’s playlists are perfect for you. Speaking honestly, I’m not able to tell the difference between, Chillwave, Synthwave and Retrowave, but they’re all good anyway!

Get started with “SKYWAY [ Chillwave - Synthwave - Retrowave Mix ]”
